Quillix Server eXtensions:
Modular Processing and Release Integration
Quillix Server eXtension (QSX) modules provide
much of the automation muscle in the capture workflow.
They act as independent rules engines, managing specific
processing tasks and determining multiple outcomes for
work case routing, exception handling and release. And
as its name suggests, the QSX architecture extends the
Quillix Server's capture process out to third-party
applications and systems.
QSX modules scale easily and can be called into action
at any point in a batch or document-level workflow process.
Most often they are invoked at the end of a capture
process, where they automatically handle the release
of captured information to document imaging, document
management, workflow or data repository software.

To get a good idea of the types of tasks QSX modules
can do, see the QSX Module
Library.
What is a QSX?
A QSX module is an elegantly designed, independent,
in-process COM object that integrates the Quillix Server
workflow with other third-party information management
or document processing software applications. Every
Quillix system always includes at least one QSX module.
Are QSX Modules Easy to Develop?
Yes. Because QSX modules are COM objects, they can
be easily written in any COM-supported programming language
to interface with any other software that also supports
the COM architecture.
To make creating custom QSX modules even easier, the
QSX Development Kit is included with every Quillix purchase.
The kit contains a sample Visual Basic project based
on the Export QSX module, which is also included.
