Task and Process Automation
ActiveAgent is an extensible task and business
process automation server platform designed to compliment
and automated workflow processes within Acorde™. The
ActiveAgent server monitors the ongoing state of information
and other systems in an organization then deploys automated
COM object agents to perform tasks on documents or data
items based on configurable selection criteria. With
this architecture ActiveAgent can perform virtually
any type of task on business information at any time.

- Merge workflow packages
- Route workflow packages
- Generate form letters based on Word document templates
- Send automatic e-mail notifications
- Comit workflow packages for filing in Acorde
Key Processing and System Features
Extensible Processing - ActiveAgent's monitor/agent
relationship allows multiple instances of the same agent
to run at the same time, all with different configuration
and/or search and match criteria. Whether there are
five or fifty monitors configured to operate on the
server, ActiveAgent's efficiency and scalability are
not diminished.
Time-Sensitivity - ActiveAgent's time-sensitive
processing is made possible though its configurable
Calendars, Thresholds and Recurring Events. Each of
these reusable elements are included in a monitor's
firing criteria, along with the search and match selection
criteria, which tell the server to call an agent to
perform a task.
Open System Architecture - ActiveAgent’s open
architecture allows developers to create their own custom
agents using Microsoft® COM components. The tasks that
custom agents can perform are limited only by the imagination
of the programmer. Developers can use any programming
language that supports the COM architecture, such as
C++, Visual Basic and Delphi to create custom agents
for the ActiveAgent server. To make it event easier
the Agent Wizard plug-in for Visual Basic, which provides
sample code and other helpful hints, is included with
every ActiveAgent purchase.
